I actually showed this article to several signficant real estate company owners. None actually read it and gave me a blasting that Australia's population is exploding and consuming all our properties. I calmly quoted a few figures, poor clearance rates and referred to the article. They walked off ranting nonsense.... They refuse to see whats infront of them.
This is the mindset of RE agents, or what I like to call: "car salesmen" who have no understanding of stats, economics or finance.
