The report about Richard Scolyer is truly remarkable. His current situation is brilliant.
What I find of concern is the “credit” that Dr Scolyer and his colleague are being attributed with in relation to immune therapy and the interpretation that so many will have that this was their novel idea. It would be very useful to know from our medical experts whether the treatment being given to Dr Scolyer is unique to their melanoma immune therapy or is it a variation. I am sure none of us begrudge their success and recognition however it begs the question as to how IMU can distinguish itself. For example it would appear that any treatment that Dr Scolyer has undergone would have to start at base camp for FDA and TGA approvals whereas IMU might be considered to be at say level 2 of a 4 stage climb of Mt Everest? Interested in your observations.
