EV growth due to a competitive price war that threatens to export China's deflation to the West isn't good for the auto market and its supply chain (including lithium)..
For those lithium companies exporting lithium to the West, you'd want your customers (Tesla, Ford, VW etc) not to be under seige, because demand (for their lithium) depends on them. We don't have privy to what their offtake agreements include e.g pricing and rights to vary or defer demand.
For those lithium companies exporting lithium to China, China's strong EV penetration would be more assuring (for lithium demand) except that their deliveries would be subject to China's need for cheap lithium price (price taker) to support China's aggressive move.
