Without SGR, all gambling in Australia becomes run by ALP donor foreign gambling companies based out of the NT paying little or no tax or New York based KKR in the case of the dwindling Crown casino empire whatever is left of it.
Australia needs SGR to remain strong and provide some Aussie ownership of gambling in Australia. The ALP needs SGR too otherwise their ALP donor foreign gambling companies based out of NT paying little or no tax look rotten to the core.
Riots in Darwin and Alice Springs and all the destruction that the foreign gambling companies based out of NT paying little or no tax can only go on for so long.
SGR becomes a main way of reducing the concentration on that.
