Great disconnect between market cap of gold stocks and gold price?
No. Gold stocks continue to suffer from the problem they have always faced (rising costs) and lack of transparency on cost reporting. Investors see the high gold price, expecting gold companies to be making $$$. In reality, costs have risen at a similar rate as gold price and finding new deposits is harder and higher cost, therefore real margins and free cashflow have not changed significantly.
