speculator101 - I've noticed that over the past few years, a lot of farmers - enjoying good cashflow, optimism and low interest rates - paid up big for neighbours' properties or just extra ground wherever they could acquire it.
Human nature (and ambition) being what it is, I can easily imagine the Boards and managements of gold miners using their cashflows to pursue growth rather than use much of it to pay dividends to shareholders.
As to how that will all end for them, history may provide a guide.
