Just as support to your statement, my local Shopping Centre has two 22kw chargers available for free which is 30 meters from a bunch of Tesla Superchargers. I noticed during the Easter break the free chargers were vacant but the superchargers were full of cars fast charging so as to continue their trip. Not to brag , well just a little maybe, when I go shopping I top up my battery for free and get rockstar parking!. The Centre uses solar panels which makes the daytime charging almost 100% renewable. I really think this type of network would be useful as the locals would most likely use the free slow charger which allows visitors to more easily find Superchargers nearby unoccupied. This kind of thing takes time but it will become the norm. If pubs and clubs join the party EV ownership will be more desirable than ICE very quickly.
