Do people still use stop loses 'like a religious tool' in trading?
Algorithmic Trading has been turned into an 'art form' in the last 3yrs. I prefer to 'feel the stock' and make my own decisions with regards to 'white noise'. If I used a stop loss, which in effect turns out to be a 'stop profit' in the long run, for all my trades I may as well not trade. You seem to mention futures traders, BOTS and profit takers. If you knew they could and would trigger a sell which you have a very very high probability of regretting, I ask the obvious, why set the trigger? Only my opinion, but, throw the 'protocol trading book' in the bin and write your own. Good Luck with what you have left. :)
