I remember as a school kid on the bus it would go past a Police Boys' Club, I think it was (no room for girls then I guess, but we're into the dark ages here)
And then as the years rolled by they seemed to disappear and weren't really replaced by some equivalent. I wonder why that is. Funding I guess
Odd though, because you'd imagine the need for them would only have increased into the 1960s and beyond.
Priorities of what governments are seen to be doing, more of what will benefit the me than the communiry as a whole is the ethos that has developed
