I wouldn't be so sure about synthetic graphite being cheaper than natural, in the short term yes, but longer term is the big question mark.
Plenty of articles/ comments on HC about synthetic prices dropping significantly but that is due to the massive oversupply China has built out and very likely with CCP subsidies. I am yet to see any info about synthetic cost of production... as far as I'm aware the fundamental energy intensity for the synthetic process hasn't changed and that drives production cost. Basically synthetic pricing is artificially low (no pun intended)... how long it can stay like that - who knows??
