these are more like inconvenient facts. I don’t know why I think it but I’m wondering if some people believe (stupidly) that the surrounding fundamentalist Muslim countries are either sweetness and light (with plenty of evidence to the contrary being ignored) or are still in the dark ages because of their socially repressive views and thus incapable of running any sophisticated propaganda machine. Add to that a current belief (that repeats age old anti semitic conspiracies ) that anything against these countries or terrorists is the result of a world wide Jewish hold over the media, and we have distortion.
People often vote against their own interests because of deeply held beliefs and, imo, it is happening again
it’s one thing to criticise Netanyahu because of his approach to Gaza and the tragic and ugly outcome and another entirely to put aside both history and repressive fundamentalist regimes
Maybe what people have suggested about Nostradamus predictions in respect of the Middle East is more accurate then one might have expected from a set of obscure and obtuse quatrains
