The country was built on migrants, migrants aren't the issue.
The number & type of migrants are the issue.
Migration should be limited to skilled migration only for positions that can't be filled by current residents or filled by trained/retrained residents in say 2 years.
Australia has a woeful record on training it's residents, companies just aren't interested they'd rather just poach someone from a competitor.
Bringing in people to work in tourism or hospitality for example is ridiculous.
Australia has a points based skilled migration system with an occupation in demand list, it just isn't being applied properly.
