Partly true. Younger types with their EVs don't have vans and a cabin has more facilities than a motel. Prices now range upwards from$100 per night. Van sites are around $50. Some van parks don't have any sites and others have very few.
There use to be regulars who basically lived in these parks in their own van. After 6 months they moved to another van park for 6 months then back again. This group is being thinned out or even totally removed.
Owners of van parks have being grouping into franchises with a 'head office' doing PR etc for them. I've assumed that head office has been informed that caravans will be a thing of the past with the rise of the EV.
There is also a rise of anti-caravaning headwinds seemingly gathering momentum.
