    Terry,

    I think we would all agree that something needs to be done. However the solution needs to include sufficient water to maintain the crops - many of which are exported.

    I simply don't understand the reasons this government wants to hurt some of our best exports - mining and now farming. If these industries are crippled, the government has less taxes coming in and more people on the dole.

    So do they then continue down the line desperately looking for more industries to tax until they have crippled the lot?

    How does this government expect to repay it's debts (including NBN) by reducing/killing revenue from it's best performers? It simply doesn't make any business sense.
