Israel has a history in trying to manipulate who will be its inhabitants and trying alter the demographics in Israel and the West Bank. I have also a suspicion that eliminating as many Palestinians is also on the agenda and probably is the main reason for the continuation of the war.
If people believe that the continuation of the war is to also rescue the hostages, they’re pulling their pud, if perchance they do get rescued it simply a bonus.
There is ample historical examples that Israel is prepared to let the Jewish diaspora to suffer if it benefits the defence industry and gains supportive votes on the international stage.
