At this stage it's only $100k. The $2mil is a commitment of services from FFG.
The first game(if you can call it that) looks mediocre. However, the 2nd game could be a significant improvement.
My guess is they saw potential talent in this developer/s and $100k to acquire them seems like a decent deal to me.
The remaining $2mil being paid in services means FFG will be paying in services for the equity. Those services will go towards building the games which at the end of the day will benefit FFG.
