Nobody really cares about being environmentally friendly. Even Qpm was just theatrics and was happy to acquire a CSG gas company to produce it's energy.
The turning point has arrived where EVs will be cheaper to buy than ICE so from a mainstream viewpoint if it's slightly more environmentally friendly and it's cheaper than that's good enough.
The red flag with nickel is who is even making nickel batteries? No company in any significant volume other than tesla(and hopefully CATL).
That CATL tweet is at least somewhat bullish for nickel. However, only half the nickel the good Dr forecasted in 2021 will be needed.
