I agree, importing gas from overseas would look very very very stupid. The high cost would result in more scenarios like Qenos and Incitec Gibson Island where companies elect to instead close their business and lay off staff because their input costs make their businesses uncompetitive. If PKIT wanted to buy Australian gas, where would they buy it? WA GSOO has their market in deficit, East Coast GSOO has their market in deficit, there are no long term low cost GSA's available. This is why the ACCC and AEMO are sending out the warning as loudly as they can, MORE SUPPLY NEEDED!!!
