Are not some security trained in firearms though and if so could they have had authority to take down the perp if they had been stationed there or maybe a taser ?

The police officer that responded seemed to get there quickly , are police on the beat in that area ?

My local Lendlease shopping centre has a police office in it plus security guards.
I think they're pretty common in higher risk or sensitive areas.
