I've seen no evidence other than FFX/LLL BOD statements that the big money was paid or disbursed in Mali. Compared to the systemic pervasive corruption of Australian officials it is hard to imagine any African government being worse in that respect. At least in Africa most of bought politicians stay bought. (Having worked in both places at senior corporate levels I can say that.)

RSG does seem to maintain very good relations with the local populations and that is always a big plus in the mineral exploration and extraction industry anywhere.
