It's ok if you have a different opinion to mine. We are here to share views and learn something. No one needs to agree, but it helps if they are respectful.

Your triumphalism is misplaced. As I wrote on this forum months ago I sold out at around 40c after owning the stock on and off for six months (seven times) so I did ok compared to other holders during that time but not so well recently. During that time I wrote that I it was likely that I would get caught out of the stock, though I was surprised to get so many successful trades out of DRO. I find it strange that some people here seem to want to project regret that I don't feel upon me (I had a big win too). My strategy is different to long-term holders and that is not to say either is right or wrong, just that people have different investing styles depending on their views. Mine for DRO is different to most posters here who are looking for a big winner. I use that strategy as well (e.g. with WTC which I hold to this day because I trust their management).

If you read my earlier posts you will also see that all along I like DRO's business but it has some of the worst capital management practices and management greed that I have ever seen, and that made the business a trading stock rather than a long term hold in my eyes. My strategy with DRO was always that I feared a management event like today and taking a massive hit, so whenever I felt it got ahead of itself I sold out as a protective measure and achieved what I hoped to. Every holder has their own experience and style and it is not a competition and whether someone has done better than someone else on a particular stock is irrelevant. There is a bigger picture at play which is overall performance, which is a private matter for all investors.

There seems to be a few posters here who have that childish mindset of "Haha, I won, you lost" but forget that all boats rise when the tide comes in, and that when one sells one stock the money goes into another, and that choice is sometimes better than the original. As I detailed at the time, I switched into TWE warrants which gave me 5x leverage after its CR and was lucky enough to sell out near the top (straight after China dropped the wine tariffs) which has proved to be even more lucrative than DRO. That was pure chance and I don't mean to suggest that I am some kind of great know-it-all investor (I have recently taken hits on WOW, ASX and RHC and get it wrong as much as the next person). I would however caution against the triumphalism that seems prevalent on DRO threads, because it might turn out to be embarrassing if you don't know what happened to the money after someone sold out.

It is sad that some posters have an emotional relationship with DRO and are unable to respect different views without becoming abusive.
