My experience with so many Chinese ASX-listed companies being scams/fraud, and the ASX/ASIC doing nothing about it. Then the Chinese legal system also does nothing about it. Leaving ASX shareholders with no options.
In the case of a Chinese share broker, you could be protected by CHESS (better verify it yourself), but I'd still not trust them much.
Example: a director transfers the company assets to their own name, burns the office documents, disappears within China (shouldn't be possible with the facial recognition), but the Chinese legal system doesn't seem interested in overseas shareholders.
