Pfizer Paxlovid was fast tracked to TGA to temporary approval in Feb 2022 just 2 months after FDA and without the required public consultation under the Health legislation but Nasodine was held up by FDA to the extent that FRE were taking it to AAT but dropped their appeal in Feb 24 because of high legal costs. TGA didn’t fast track Viraleze despite European authorisation and made it go through full public consultation process even though the potential for helping 80% of population in the pandemic. They rejected 2021 application and changed category to Medicine from medical device which Starpharma had to get reviewed by the TGA adjuducation process And TGA were told the appropriate category was medical device - then a formal application in March 2022 didn’t appear on public consultation until September 2023 and is still awaiting final approval of Astodrimer sodium as nasal spray Sched 2
