Wow … the action today was explosive … and interesting! Gold shot up to around $US2412, sparked by the news initially claiming Israel had struck a nuclear site in Iran. NST initially fell on open. The broader market moved downwards. Then, on the back of the reported situation, NST followed the gold price higher, topping at $16.035. When the news reported that Israel hadn’t in fact struck one of Iran’s nuclear sites, the gold price (and NST) drifted well back from their day highs.
Closing at another year high for NST, it was actually good to see the share price do what it should do under these volatile circumstances, as so often it has been very frustrating watching the ducks line up in a row and watching the share price fall when it should rise as a safe haven holding.
