The only time when Ukraine made their choices, was when Yanukovich was in government. He was the only leader that at least tried to balance between the interests of Russian and EU.

But then, US got involved. Got their meddling on. Riled up a crowd of fanatic nutters that didn't know the difference between Trade-Agreement and EU Mem ership, as well as far-right organisations, that used violence to overthrow a democratically elected government.

And now Ukraine is a dictatorship.
Elections cancelled. Mass media - centralised. Ukraine is actively trying to block certain social media, like Telegram.
Borders locked. Military aged men can't leave. Being grabbed off the streets by force all over the place.
Once you've been mobilised - you're in the army till you're maimed or till you're dead.

Ordinary Ukrainians never chose any of that. They were manipulated by US government and the CIA into a literal dead-end.
