Yes I think i remember something on telly showing how French school kids are still taught about the Anzacs in some areas. You are right what you say about other nations kids too as they were only following the orders passed down from madmen. All humans bleed and cry the same.
I remember standing on the River Kwai bridge in Thailand and a Japanese tourist approached me and wanted to shake my hand and his mate get a photo.
At first I thought shouild I shake his hand or toss him off the bridge..I chose the latter and glad I did. I like to think that photo is hanging up in a Japanese home somewhere and has significance in their lives.
