Defence personnel (yes I know, contradiction in terms for ‘other people’s wars’) don’t get an option to say no. They have a duty to obey orders.
Conscientious objection is for Civilians and not troops. The fact they, defence personnel, obey orders and fight the fight, deserves the respect. Civilians and their thought processes? Irrelevant.
