There will be no takeover until Austrac is settled. Nobody with money is going to let the government fine them some hundreds of millions for actions of previous management from years ago that they had nothing to do with. Even after that a takeover on market would only occur if there are multiple interested parties which is not guaranteed. We know Blackstone would like it but they would like the government to continue to destroy it so they can swoop in uncontested. After this they will quietly ask for changes to legislation and reforms to make it profitable again load it back up with debt and then sell it back to the retail investors at inflated prices.
