It is not about political ideology, it is about capability.
As for Germany, they did not have the capability to conduct a naval and land invasion of UK. UK knew this from the beginning of WW2.
If Germany did, then Britain would yield, as they did when the Romans invaded.
At the end of the day, capability and power is all that matters.
