A lot of the delay with the EIA was the stringency of the process, which was more than anticipated and is more robust as a result. Puna has set the bar for community expectations and set it pretty high with all the groundwork they laid over the 2 years or so prior. Rio will have to match that and they know from experience that communities can overturn extraction permits. Sure, we always want things yesterday but that was time well invested.
