Mate,

Put options or call will always influence the price of underlying stock.
Holders of put options in affect is a short seller and holders of call is long.
One can have hundreds and hundreds or even thousand of contract of put or call options in TLS....one hundred contract of put options equals to 100K shares so a thousand contract is the same as 1mill shares.
The more people exercising put options the more pressure there is to the underlying share price.....and one can hold hundreds and hundreds of contract at only a fraction of cost to the underlying price of stock and that is a massive leverage....and one will only normally exercising option when on is in the money.
