Maybe its about time Governments did some cost benefit analsyis on building more roads. If they had undertaken such an anlaysis, they might have discovered that the billions they spent on roads might have been better spent on a more efficient public transport system.

And if governments had undertaken cost benefit analyses on all public hospitals they may have discovered that some have been built just to help an MP's election prospects. Isn't that what JH was criticised for, prior to that election, when he proposed building a hospital in Tassy. According to the State Government, it was not justified.

We appoint Governments to spend our money wisely and not for narrow simple purpose of creating jos. Look at the pinks batts fiasco when the Rudd Labor Government lost sight of that guiding principle.
