It is pretty obvious that any contrary opinion on DEG or the price of gold on this bb is immediately attacked.
I could pull up literally thousands of notes on this bb over the last 3 years 99% of which are wrong .Examples include lithium exploration( a bust),takeover (never happened)relationship of DEG price to the price of gold (small to little correlation due to the fact that DEG is not a producer) and price (predictions of 2-10$ a share (never happened).
Many of these posters do not read the posting guidelines ,some can’t spell and some are obviously hired to push DEG wherever they can and now are hired to push Greatland gold .
It has been clearly shown over the long term that investing in Gold and gold stocks underperforms the markets .There are say over 40 years (my investing span)periods when gold and gold miners are a fantastic investment .We may or may not be coming into such a period .The last one was 30 years ago.
The main reason the POG is up(and its down big time today)is because of massive buying by China(but not India).This may not be good news for Australia because there is some speculation that Chinese buying is a prelude to invading Taiwan .President XI is becoming more like Mao and Putin like Stalin .This is because of an aged and ailing president in the US. Encouraging bad actors like Russia,China and Iran to cause trouble.
The other reason that the POG is going down right now is because of speculation about interest rates staying higher longer.This is bad news for Deg as it has massive financing needs ahead.
I have noticed that there are fewer news releases coming out of DEG,they are also more cautious than in the past .Maybe this is because they have a new legal team on board.
