I don't make the rules. It's slow for 3 reasons. Perverted religious teachings, general misinterpretation of texts and virtually no one comes to inquire into it unless they have suffered.
But I'd say that there's definitely far more people waking up in the last few years than ever before. There's so much quality info available online, and the non-duality guys seems to be leading the way. Many people are doing psychedelics which provide a glimpse of something more, and come to it that way.
