You are 100% correct, it is such a sad circumstance we still find ourselves in, I ephasise STILL.
If you recall we were in the exact same position in 2017/18, where domestic violence was front and centre. Many promises were made then too so it shouldn't be a surprise many are sceptical of knee jerk reactions and little considerd promises.
This issue needs to be tackled at the state level, not federal, it is they that can legislate and toughen bail laws, penalties for criminal conduct, breaches of orders etc.
Sure the feds can allocate funding, but we know how that goes!
