Indigenous are both overrepresented in stats AND also underreported in regional and remote areas - DV is kept in families and communities until it gets extreme. Alcohol is a major factor, and the indigenous communities that have banned alcohol have far less problems than others. NT makes up a small part of national stats because it has a small population. If stats were per capita, regional and remote areas would be much higher than major cities. Much of the government intervention and money seems to be a waste. What has had the biggest impact in my experience is good indigenous leadership at the community level. No misinformation from me, just my experience and direct observations.
