I heard psychologists have the highest divorce rate of any occupation. I asked one why such is the case and she said it is because they know what the other person is up to..... @mogga doing well to survive in that case or she is happy with a no drama fellow. Not all are.
I succeeded in a field where 90% or more fail so probably have smaller allowances for weakness or excuses than most. The priest clearly expected my mother would give my father a second chance but she went the hard destitute way instead as trust and respect were gone. Us kids paid a price for her choice too but then maybe the home would have been lost instead if she relented down the line. Many women, maybe most would have taken him back with no single mums' pension back in those days. You say trapped and I say choices - even when very hard to do they are still choices.
