Agreed, it'd be counter intuitive if the tariff increases the price of EV and discourage the adoption of EV altogether.
There's just not enough raw material (ie graphite) locally to support the supply chain in the next few years. It'd be interesting to see what the govt roll out in the short term to support the onshoring of supply chain.
