On the surface of it, this is what it appears you are proposing -> coming in half way through the story and trying to work out the story, resulting in a change to the story.
Gen is Very Clear, we Became a living soul (body come alive), not come alive and received a soul.
Gens tells you what a soul is, is what I'm seeing in the clear verse.
The soul aspect that you appear to be drawing upon -> it appears that that is a development (the you, emotions etc, etc) from the living soul that you are, as I have been suggesting.
Hence it would appear that the soul aspect that you want to fear being killed is, in a spiritual context, example -> your belief in Jesus etc as that's what brings eternal life.
Because based on Gen's, if we read it for what it says, if the body is killed, that is the living soul. physical.
But your spiritual soul will be stored, recorded in heaven (Book of life), only in the following context;
Eph 2:6 - and raisedusup together, and madeussit together in the heavenlyplacesin Christ Jesus,
It also appears, that you're locked and loaded with your current belief of it and what your faith says about it, and maybe that's preventing you from considering anything else?
------------
If I get a chance, I may look up some of the various quotes ppm put up, to try and establish an overall and true context, spiritual context or literal context of the soul.
As I also pointed out, which you have not commented on, the heart in places, or meanings and representations of it, are in effect interchanged with the soul aspects, mentioned here and there, but you don't consider the heart aspect the same.
------------
I have not gone into looking at the spirit context, spiritual and literal (twofold) aspect and maybe what you propose for the soul aspect, is in fact the or a spirit?
