Noble Drilling reports that Azule (BP/ENI JV) has commissioned the Noble Venturer drillship for its 4Q 2024 two well farmin drilling program in the Rhino PEL 85 block.
"From Equatorial Guinea, we will move the Noble Venturer to Namibia and drill an exploratory campaign of a minimum of two wells for Rhino Resources Ltd, commencing in November 2024. A day rate of $410,000 (excluding mobilization) will apply for the firm term and option scope, for a total potential duration of 100 to 250 days." (Noble Energy)
With Chevron reported drilling in PEL 90 in 4Q 2024, and GALP looking to start drilling four wells on the Mopane Oil discovery complex in 4Q 2024, a lot of drilling activity coming up in the offshore Orange Basin.
Exploration success in these drill programs should heighten anticipation for success ahead of the drilling of the Saturn Turbidite Complex in PEL 87 in 1Q 2025.
