There's two translations of Bin Laden's comments after 9-11 that I'm aware of, but only the American translation has him claiming anything close to responsibility after the attacks. In the other translation he is simply expressing his surprise that the buildings fell down after the attack. I guess you didn't hear about that on channel 9.

Also keep in mind that the CIA funded and trained Bin Laden to act on their behalf in Afghanistan twenty or thirty years ago and that his connection with the CIA has never been broken.
