query why they continued drilling with the 8 inch? Forgot to change it out and then decided to save a trip out of the hole? if so false economy. Then casing with a too small diameter casing means even more cement between hole and rock. This all explains why they "ran out"? Someone else may have a go at trying to put it altogether.

The perforating gun may not have been able to overcome enough "skin". Hence no flow. Life an aircraft crash its unlikely to be just one thing.

Is this why the forensics are slow to come?

I always have some query over people with glowing reputations until they prove themselves, because usually they have a team previously and its often someone else who may have made them look good.

People are blaming the drill rig, but does it lie elsewhere?

Problems at O-2, JW-1 core barrel, 8" drilling and casing? JH maybe a decent geo, but if he doesn't have a drilling manager with brains its wasted.
