I would say the changes are not about the lack of action but more about the right actions to ensure maximum shareholder value.

As for Dr Duthy, from what I know, Dr Duthy was new to the board and has no obvious alignment / allegiance to any board member or Michael. He seemed to have a good working relationship with Michael. So why throw in the towel so swiftly? He sat in the box seat for power with maximum shareholder support.

So

• Is it that the product is a fail? (all signs are that this is not the case. Further, the timing of his departure lining up with the outgoing board seems ... remarkable to say the least. Note also, I would suggest he had no intention of resigning if this turn over did not happen)
• Is it he is a snow flake that melts at the first sign of heat? (nup, don't buy this)
• Is it he simply could not stomach working with Michael or Marcus? (really! As the chair and as a very experienced bio player surely you could sort that)
• Is it that he is so incensed that the board was being overturned that he felt morally obliged to shoot himself in the foot too? (nup, don't buy this)
• Is he scared of being the chair? (oh, now that would be embarrassing)
• Is it that the shareholders were so awful that he couldn't feel supported (nup, he had the support of the majority up front)
• Or is it he had something else going on that would have been best left behind fast.... This one has the most credibility in my mind.

More than happy for Tom Duthy to explain his reasons for departing the building so quick but until he does, I question what on earth was he doing. I think the company may have dodged a bullet. I could well be completely wrong and I am not going to accuse Dr Duthy of anything - just for me, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, has feathers, then i am going to assume it is a duck... Until someone educates me that it was in fact not a duck. I am very open to being educated.!

I am simply riding out this bump in the road, like i have many times before, and look forward to a much brighter future.
