Yep. l've read plenty of articles on extending the life of nuclear plants.
The costs associated are horrendous. The only thing that makes them somewhat viable is that the cost of building a new nuclear power station is even more horrendous .
You will also note that rather than build a new power station that has a 40-60 year life they are choosing to extend the life of the old station by about 10 years because that's how long they will need it for . They don't want a new nuclear plant with a life of 40-60 years . lnstead they are putting that money into renewables for the long term.
