I think every one who invests in stocks realizes the risks of competitive markets, and possibilities of new emerging markets of competitiveness to present day consumables.
Nothing is for certain in the stock market. But to use as a parallel example Cisco and First Solar. I don' feel any investor who got in early on those would be too depressed in the matter, even still at todays respective Market cap on both.
