If you side with management I don't have a problem with it per se as long as you can present a good reasoned argument for it, I think youll be listened to , you were going somewhere with the acquisition could yet come good.
But I don't think laying it on when shareholders bought in has any bearing on whether bid are or not they're aligned with holders.
For me, I'm yet to be convinced that shareholder returns really are a priority, and we all realise assets decline and that some form of diversity is necessary...thats a different argument to alignment though imho.
