Simply what does it say about a company and shareholder base
Ask for money in a cap raise from sophisticated investors because the shareholders don’t want to put in.
Give them a cherry to go with future success only to rip that cherry away.
It sends the message that shareholders are deceitful and only interested in their own means, and the company they claim to support they are quite happy to bend over.
