I have an idea about how it will turn out, remember, this is only My Opinion....DYOR
The world is going to turn it's back on Electrification because the aliens are going to provide all the free power AI will need to enslave the human race on their behalf.
The aliens will then proceed to take all the world's resources to their moon bases where they will trade it to the Borg for nothing because it's worthless.
Hahahha.....
