By hiding their message in a mass of faked psuedo-science and pagan earth-worshipping dogma they largely managed to avoid scrutiny during the early stages of the scam.
However the payoffs are so massive that it is worth to double-down on the bet and go all in for hope that they can bluff their way to success.
