You're playing this game against institutions with teams of highly paid analysts to do the sums and work out the funnymental situations of companies, they don't rely on what companies say, they look at the numbers, do the sums and bet accordingly. While I am sure there is plenty of insider trading in the markets, these sort of situations generally aren't ... and even if it is, who cares, you can't do anything about it so learn to play the game rather than try and fight it
